Council passes first Young Labour motion!

Last night North Tyneside council became the first council to pass Young Labour’s motion about youth homelessness. This is fantastic news and now we need to build on this success!

The motion states that councils should guarantee advice and assistance, at the very least, for all single young homeless people that approach them. It also provides for better support and advice about housing and homelessness for those with mental health problems, disabilities and addictions.

North Tyneside council passed the motion unanimously. Well done to North Tyneside Councillor and Young Labour member Anthony McMullen, who has been a great supporter of the campaign!

Young Labour groups and members around the country are encouraging their councils to pass the motion as part of Young Labour’s first ever priority campaign.
